Patrick Brompton Hall is a family-owned grade II* Historic House built in the Queen Anne style in 1703 and is known locally as ‘the secret gem of Wensleydale”. Generations of the family along with their many friends, have gathered here to share stories, celebrate and relax.
We are now opening our doors to a new generation of family, our hire guests.
In winter read on a sofa beside a roaring fire. In summer take your coffee on the terrace in front of the house after an early morning swim. The stream beside the drive hosts wildlife. You might possibly catch a glimpse of a kingfisher. Nature is all round you combined with the super-healing power of the colour green.
You can make this beautiful house and its wonderful surroundings your own special country house home for the weekend or week. The Hall has an amazing indoor heated pool, (available between the months of March and to the end of October half-term and other times by arrangement.) In summer enjoy croquet on the lawn and above all, enjoy a relaxing atmosphere where you can let go of pressure and enjoy idling and rest.
When you do venture ‘off-campus’ our central location in the lower Yorkshire Dales offers you magnificent cycling and walking routes and an abundance of history and wonder to satisfy all ages and generations. Explore the castles of Bolton, Middleham and Richmond, visit world heritage sites like Fountains Abbey, potter about the shops and market stalls of quaint market towns like Leyburn, Hawes, Masham and Thirsk, and the largest one of all, Northallerton. When you stay at Patrick Brompton Hall you are only a reasonable car journey to unmissable northern cathedral cities of York and Durham. If you crave a day by the sea, we suggest Whitby, Saltburn or Tynemouth that are all an easy drive from Patrick Brompton Hall.
